The Val d'Ega lies to the east of the capital of the province of South Tyrol. The ski resorts of Obereggen, with 111 km of ski slopes and 16 lifts and Carezza, with 40 km of ski slopes and 54 lifts can be reached in less than 20 minutes from Bolzano. The ski slopes are nestled between Rosengarten and Latemar.
In winter, the valley also offers 80 km of cross-country ski trails, groomed winter hiking trails and snowshoe tours as well as 3 toboggan runs.
